Everyone has a local party store you can go to and buy little pocket puzzles, books, noise makers, kazoos, etc. Resist the temptation to give candy. If you absolutely must give candy, go to your local health food store and give something that doesn't have any processed sugars, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. You'll be the hero in your neighborhood families as the kids immune systems stay strong. Our media has a way of chronically reminding you that it's the flu season.
October/November is usually a high stress time when report card review comes and kids are usually faced with some anxiety with parent teacher meetings and so on. You'll be a helping hand by keeping their alkalinity in balance with healthier selections and abstaining from unhealthy choices.
Here is an example of some of the party favor ideas: www.smalltoys.com. Doesn't everyone like that foam ice cream cone that with a flick of a thumb bop a buddy? Or perhaps a mini whoopie cushion to reenact flatulence that they might have had if they received the candy in the first place! There will be many giggles heard from your brilliance of NOT feeding them candy during Halloween.
Happy Halloween Everyone. Be safe where ever you are.
